Scary Ramblings!

Ever since I was a kid, unlike others I use to sleep alone, not cuddled to my mother(though I sleep with her sometimes now :D). But there are things that scare me & anybody who says there's nothing he or she is scared off is probably lying :)

So here is the list of  most fearful nightmares that I am quite afraid off!
1. I am arachneophobic, i.e I am really scared of spiders. Not only the large one's but small harmless one's too :(
2. I use to be a xenophobic in school but when I entered college everything changed, I now am quite comfortable talking to new people & socializing. Being an introvert has it's advantages too, the fear of socializing made me wonderful at maths because in class I use to solve those scary math problems & always scored more than 95 :P. I simply love maths (it's one of the best subjects).
3. Sorry for getting off topic in the 2nd point!
I don't feel comfortable enough to roam in the market at night even when an elder accompanies me, I know that sounds childish but I can't help it! It's not that I am scared or anything but I feel comfy in my home at that wee hour even when it's 7 in the winter & night seems to cross, I get those shrills through my body :(
4. Sometimes thinking about horror movies I am a bit uneasy, I mean veryy uncomfortable. When I have just landed up on my bed & lovely thought are there surrounding the very me, almost suddenly I am struck with an image of the girl from "The Exorcist"(if you have seen the movie would be knowing what I am talking about) . I watched the movie when I was in my 8th standard at night when my parents were off for a party & my little brother was sound asleep. Maybe the wee hour made a strong impact on my brain, that's why I still get goosebumps thinking of the girl waling on her toes :(

But over time as I was brave before I have got my conscious to accept that it's all in the mind. I just murmur a holy formula i.e a Shalok or Hanuman Chalisa to get those ghosts out of my mind.
I would like if you share your scary bites with me in the comment section:)

P.S, Image: Sorry! for not putting up an image because when I wrote "scary" on google images I was a lot more scared... You can check out for yourself

  3. I LOVE maths too :)
I sort of share your 3rd fear.

I'm not scared of monsters or demons, i'm scared of how it seems certain people i hope i will never meet in my life can turn into demons and do horrible things.

I also don't see the point of horror movies...why in the world would you *want to* be scared? beats me!

  8. Oh girl. I hear you with the scary movie bit. I can sit through the entire movie, not phased by any of the dramatic effects but when it's time to hit the hay, every shadow is something to suspect! I'm such a pansy that I can't even sleep unless my fiance is in bed with me most nights in October (my scary movie month).

  9. Haha, scary movies have scarred me too! Particularly "Alien", when the monster tears out of the astronaut's stomach. I was so young, but I refused to eat weird looking food after that! It's all in the head, like you say.

  11. As a bushranger i am scared of sharing my innermost fears with people. That line in The Doors song always "got me" - 'I know your deepest secret fear'!! It was like his ultimate power.

  12. ..hey Tanya..thanks for sharing all your fears..
..staying in a country like India i can understand your fear in point no three...
..i also used to be scared of ghosts, way back in school..i used to read ghost stories..and turn my night into a sleepless hell..having nightmares about all those ghosts..thinking they would come to eat me..
..i also saw Grudge,Shutter and most recently Reincarnation..which scared the hell out of me...
..even in a busy cosmopolitan life..sometimes that fear overtakes you..and nothing can help you..not even mantras.. :) ;)

    1. Hi Rigzin! Actually no I just wrote the 3rd point in order to convey my uneasiness at night(what you are thinking is not fully right ;)). Thanks for such a wonderful comment. I did watched the grudge some days back... N mantras do work for me. Thanks for dropping by :)

  13. ..i meant to say that girls are not safe in delhi and around..go through the newspapers..everyday a girl becomes a victim of some man's lust..from 3 year old to 80 year old granny..no one is safe here...and that is the irony...your body shudders at the thought of what the victim must have been through....
..we have a woman chief minister..but she plays deaf and doesn't care..our cops are corrupt..politicians have broken records in corruption..these termites are eating up our economy..people are not bothered what is happening in the neighborhood but busy piling up money...there is something really wrong with our society..

..hey thanks for your lovely comment on my blog... :)

    1. Yes dear I got what you were trying to convey, but I negated the comment because this is not the reason of my being petrified in the dark when sun sets. I just don't feel comfortable going out after dark(just an issue with my discourse maybe). Anyways & thanks for such a detailed analysis at the incompetent government we have. I totally agree with every word that you wrote in here. take care friend

  16. hey...tanya...that was a nice post you have written. Everybody in this planet has fears, if not, he is not human. I, for one, too, have a lot of fears. For instance, I am an introvert. I can watch mild horror movies but not extreme. Personally, I don't consider horror as a genre. Movies are made for entertainment, not to scare the bejesus out of us. I am also afraid of certain animals.
And hey, thanks for your comment on my blog- akashgovind.blogspot.in ..... :)

  17. I am afraid of spiders too! But I NEVER remember all those phobia nomenclature so I am going to address as Spider-phobia.. and I also dislike horror movies!... they make me feel helpless. I like those movies - Thrillers - guns tanks bombs, but not supernatural creatures who can kill me but I cannot kill them! And the roaming in the market was really funny :P... For me, I love night - neon lights :) ...
